WRITTEN ROAD RULES TEST

Overseas clients are encouraged to read Your Keys to Driving in Queensland – an easy-to-read booklet on the Australian Road Rules and the Queensland driver licensing system. This booklet is available at newsagents, Queensland Transport centres and also online at www.transport.qld.gov.au

Queensland Transport usually gives foreign licence holders a period of time before they have to apply for a Queensland Driver's Licence. Usually after you have been residing in Queensland for three months you will be required to apply for a Queensland licence. As the laws are quite complex and can change, we strongly urge you to contact Queensland Transport on 13 23 80 to find out how this applies to you.

Generally, clients who hold a foreign driver licence are required to successfully complete a written road rules test at Queensland Transport prior to having driving lessons and undertaking the practical driving test.

Chevron Driving School also provides tuition to help you understand the Australian road rules and to prepare you for the written test.

PRACTICAL DRIVING TEST

Our driver trainers will be able to help you to apply the Australian road rules and fine-tune your skills in preparation for taking the practical driving test.

Clients who hold a foreign driver licence must produce their passport and their current driver's licence at the beginning of every lesson. If your licence is not in English, you will also need to produce a recognised English translation.

Once you have passed the written road rules test, give us a call so we can arrange the practical driving test for you.
